Puppy Information and gallery

NO NONSENSE Information you need to know....

When purchasing a puppy from any breeder you must be aware of certain things...

1. NO LITTER is of complete show quality!!! there is a difference between show and pet quality puppies and just because you are sold a puppy on main register does not mean it is worth more money and is better quality. do not be fooled by breeders who lie to you in order to get more money

2. Unless all of the planets align or you are the lucky one in a million i can tell you that no kennel in the world is going to sell you the "pick of the litter" puppy!!!! the whole point of any breeder having a litter is to attempt to improve there kennels and breeding dogs. If the entire litter is sold without any pups being retained by the breeder you will usually find this means they either do not think any of the pups offer them something new or are of the quality they are looking for. It may also be that they are just breeding and selling the dogs for money. Bitches in particular you will find are sold for more money and kept by many so called "breeders" regardess of the quality plain and simply because they have the ability to be bred from in the future and make them more money.

3. People who make statements that they were sold the "pick of the litter" are in 99% of cases talking absolute rubbish, particularly from international breeders. No international breeder will breed a litter then send the "pick of the litter" across the world. The statement is misleading and in most cases a fabrication. I can tell you as a breeder i would never sell the "pick of the litter" because if i have bred a litter to improve my kennels why on earth would i then sell the best puppy to someone else? We have dealt with literally dozens of international breeders and like us they are not going to give you the pick puppy. If you have a good relationship with them and are very lucky you may get what is called the 2nd pick but that is rare so dont be fooled by people who tell you otherwise.

4. The statement A "lifetime of support" is often said by many breeders and the majority mean it however with some of the more un savoury people you will find this can quickly be ditched so make sure any so called "health guarantees" are in writing and clearly state the conditions to which the breeder will take responsibility for issues the dogs may have as a result of genetic related problems. Unfortunately many so called "breeders" will cease all responsibility the moment you get the dog and they get the cash so beware of who your dealing with and do your reserach on the breeder and there dogs.

5. Many breeders have puppy contracts so be prepared to have to agree to the terms before you get a puppy. Some people do this to protect the puppy and some people i personally feel just have to much time on there hands and far to much belief of self importance. The purpose of the contract should always be to serve you and the puppies best interests. If the contract is actually just an arse covering excerise by the breeder in case the dog has issues that they do not want to take responsibility for then dont sign it and if the breeder is unreasonable about you concerns then dont deal with them. The breeders interests and the whole point of the contract should be to secure lifetime and loving homes for there pups, if contracts are used to create a superiority complex or so that they can dictate to you then that serves them and there ego not you or the welfare of the pup. Contracts are important and most people do it for the right reasons but some do not so beware and make sure your fully aware of any points ou arent clear of or that you dont understand.

6. The puppies parents should both be healthy and you should see both dogs and there health results. DO NOT BE DAZZLED BY THE WORD IMPORT OR CHAMPION!! it does not excuse faults and does not guarantee quality or superiority. Spend time getting to know everything you can about the dogs and the breeder before you buy to avoid problems down the line. You should always be able to speak to the breeder about any problems or issues and they should support you in good and bad. Breeders that share in your success but then drop you the second anything associated with the dog happens that they feel as though makes them look bad are not people you want to deal with.

AND FINALLY.....

RESEARCH THE BREED AND HOW TO CARE FOR IT! THIS IS A LONG TERM COMMITTMENT OF A LARGE BREED THAT CAN HAVE HEALTH ISSUES SO MAKE SURE YOUR FULLY AWARE OF EVERYTHING YOU NEEDT O AND DONT BE AFRIAD TO ASK QUESTIONS
